About your Upholsterer
Charlie is a passionate educator & upholsterer into his fourth decade of the craft. In the early days of his craft, Charlie worked his way through Europe, soaking in the dying traditional skills of yesteryear from European upholsterers renowned for the craft. His passion was born. Since then Charlie has worked alongside antique-dealers, architects & designers, through the range of eras & styles from antique to contemporary furniture & continues to pass on these skills to the next generation of upholstery apprentices & students.
Choosing a Fabric
You will require to source 1 meter of fabric for the final finish of the chair. This will be required near the end of your course, but we suggest that you source or order your fabric soon after course commencement. We do have some fabric remnants available in the warehouse that you can select from, alternately we will be more than happy to help guide you through the foray of fabric selection.
Something to Consider
To ensure all the upholstery skills & techniques can be covered in the timeframe, it will not be possible to provide your own chair. We do however provide an appropriate chair frame as part of the course fees. If you would like to polish or paint your European beech chair frame prior to class (these are provided in raw wood), please contact me to arrange collection.
The Important bits

Wear: comfortable clothes and closed in shoes (expect to get a bit dirty)
