Soak up the knowledge on the process of putting designs onto screens, layering colours and illustrations to print your own meter of fabric that can then be used in one of our upholstery or sewing courses, or to take away for your own upholstery or sewing project.

Our social Box (cushion) & Banter sewing course starts at the beginning, no sewing experience required. In this short four hour course, your seamstress will take you through the ins & outs of sewing machine and then on to creating your very own box cushion to take home. You’ll learn how to cut to a pattern with seam allowance, you’ll learn about different styles of box cushions, sewing in a zip & learn about different types of fabrics & cushion inserts suitable for box cushions. This course, located in our Moorabbin Upholstery Workshop is the perfect introduction to sewing in a social and relaxed atmosphere.

So, you have a family heirloom chair that you’ve always wanted to restore to its former glory, or perhaps even picked one up at your neighbour’s garage sale, or a sneaky nature-strip find? Well this course might just be for you. Our “Chair Amnesty” upholstery course allows you to learn traditional upholstery skills in a social & positive atmosphere. Your upholstress, Jen, will guide you through the process of completely stripping & rebuilding your chair using traditional upholstery skills.

Not all chairs are suitable for this course given it is based on traditional spring based techniques. Prior to booking, please send me a snap of your chair on 0451018171 so that we can confirm it is suitable for the course.
