Description
Our Chair & Chat Upholstery Workshop is the perfect hands-on introduction to traditional upholstery skills. After selecting from a range of vintage dining chairs, your upholstress, Jan, will guide you through the process of rebuilding your chair over two days in a small personalised setting. Included in the course cost is your choice of vintage dining chair (already stripped), all the insides needed to make a chair, the use of professional upholstery tools & we hope a heap of fun & merriness.
A minimum 3 students will be required for the class to run.

About your Upholstress
Your Upholstery Teacher, Jan, will guide you into your foray of upholstery. Jan fell in love with the craft after being introduced to it by the amazingly-skilled Adrian Padgham; Master Upholsterer. After assisting Adrian for many years, Jan joined the team at Eclectic Boogaloo in helping keep the craft alive.
Choosing a Fabric
A meter of fabric will be required to cover your chair. You are more than welcome to bring your own fabric but we also have a humble selection of remnants that you are welcome to choose from on the day. Should you want to select from a larger range of fabrics from various Fabric warehouses then we can also help. In this case, please contact Jen at least two weeks prior to the class date to organise a fabric order.
Something to Consider
A range of vintage dining chairs are available for you to select from, which are stripped in preparation for the class. Should you wish to work on the show-wood (for example, sand, paint and stain etc.) then please contact Jen to organise a time to pick up the chair before class starts, to work on it at home.

Bring: a smile (and your fabric!)
Wear: comfortable clothes and closed in shoes (expect to get a bit dirty)

Not only will you be taking home your very own vintage chair, you’ll walk away with a variety of traditional upholstery skills, tips & tricks, and hopefully a love of the craft. Our aim is to inspire you & arm you with enough knowledge & confidence to start your own project, and that you will join us on our mission to save the world, one chair at a time.
