Chair Amnesty upholstery - April 20th
Chair Amnesty upholstery - April 20th
Description
So, you have a family heirloom chair that you’ve always wanted to restore to its former glory, or perhaps even picked one up at your neighbour’s garage sale, or a sneaky nature-strip find? Well this course might just be for you. Our “Chair Amnesty” upholstery course allows you to learn traditional upholstery skills in a social & positive atmosphere. Your upholstress, Jen, will guide you through the process of completely stripping & rebuilding your chair using traditional upholstery skills.
Not all chairs are suitable for this course given it is based on traditional coil spring techniques. Prior to booking, I recommend that you email a snap of your chair to jen@eclecticboogaloo.com.au so that we can confirm it is suitable for the course.

About your Upholstress
Founder of Eclectic Boogaloo, Jen, will guide you into your foray of upholstery. Jen fell in love with the craft after being introduced to it by the amazingly-skilled Adrian Padgham; Master Upholsterer. So much did Jen’s passion & natural ability show, Adrian offered her a job in assisting his upholstery classes back in 2015. With Adrian hanging up this tools in 2019, Jen has vowed to keep the craft alive with her own version of traditional upholstery classes.
Choosing a Fabric
The meterage of the fabric required will depend on the style of your chair and the pattern of the chosen fabric. From a picture of your chair, Jen will be able to tell you how many meters you will need for your project. You will need to source your fabric before the commencement of your course. You can source your own upholstery grade fabric yourself, or if you need guidance, Jen will be more than happy to help guide you through the foray of fabric selection. Check out our fabric webpage which includes links to our favourite Fabric warehouses. From this page, you can also submit an order to request fabric samples to be posted to you and also place a fabric order. Samples must be organised four weeks prior to the class start date and orders placed at least two weeks prior.
